Topic: Resilient Parents, Resilient Child: How Your Resilience Either Helps or Hinders Your Child's Capacity for Executive Function

What You Will Learn: Your child is a little (or big) human being with needs and feelings just like you, who is WAY over-stressed and terribly misunderstood. It’s up to US as parents, to question EVERYTHING we do to help our kids -- except our love for our child. Our current system lacks compassion and fails to prepare parents to give their child the future they deserve (it also doesn’t cultivate their potential). Parents are way more powerful than they have been told, and are in the BEST position to give their child a better life (note: I’m NOT knocking anyone, or their decisions! Anyone in this field is well-meaning). The Polyvagal theory tells us that improving autonomic function in kids with ASD may be the key to change. That’s what I do! Cool huh??

About Sue: Sue is a Certified Advanced EFT Practitioner and Emotional Success Coach with a specialty in stress reduction and trauma associated with ASD/ADD. She is also a Certified Professional Coach, and served families as a Certified RDI® Program Consultant for over a decade. Sue is on a mission to change the way we view and address neurodiversity. For decades, frazzled parents of ND children have waited anxiously for therapy, feeling helpless, dependent, and often like they have “failed their child.” Sue proposes a new paradigm: Armed with specialized knowledge and skills, not only are parents able to make dramatic changes in their children’s lives, but they’re ideally suited to do so! Sue is dedicated to putting parents back in the driver’s seat where they belong, with the resilience and skills to enjoy more love and peace at home, and a brighter future. Real change is possible, and parents hold the key. Most importantly, Sue is the proud Mom of two amazing young adults on the spectrum. If anyone gets what’s required to raise our children to become happy, well-adjusted adults, it’s her!
