10 ways to get the most out of TEFOS

  1. MOST IMPORTANT: Prioritize it! I know you're busy, but to get the most out of TEFOS, clear your schedule as much as possible and treat it like an in person summit. Be present, focused, take notes. Make it a gift to yourself to show up, because if you IMMERSE yourself in this one weekend of your life, it will pay off for years to come. See Schedule to plan your weekend >
  2. Don't try to do every session, it’s unrealistic, and it’s ok!
  3. Watch the first 3 min of each expert to give it a chance, even if the topic doesn't seem relevant.
  4. Join our private TEFOS fb group here >
  5. Get an accountability group, friend, partner, or buddy to go through TEFOS with and support each other. (Connect on our fb group)
  6. Join or start a watch party to discuss sessions and dive deeper.
  7. Sick of screens? Listen to the audio only.
  8. Speakers talking too fast or slow? I made sure the videos all have speed control so you can adjust to your preferences. Look for the gear.
  9. Download the free "TEFOS Notes Guide" I created for you, it’s linked on the summit. You can print it to help you track your speakers and notes.
  10. Buy the VIP Pass to go through learning at your own pace throughout the year, get the excellent bonuses.

PS - Please share far, wide and often, because sharing is the BEST way to help us get the word out! We share the homepage ExecutiveFunctionSummit.com

Inclusion Equity & Diversity

“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” Audre Lorde

  • TEFOS (and anything I create) is for any human being who is interested in learning and growing.
  • There's no room here for hate, contempt, bigotry of any sort, racism, people who support oppressive systems, prejudice, or any form of cruelty, ever.
  • TEFOS is a safe, accepting, inclusive, and welcoming place for people of every race, ethnicity, gender, nationality, ability, or religion.
  • We do not judge, generalize, or assume we know another’s experience.
  • This is an open-hearted place where people learn, share, grow together, with respect for one another’s personhood. We take care of each other, and every voice matters.
  • We are allies.

This IS a place of kindness, generosity, compassion, empathy, acceptance and love.

Who is Seth Perler?

I’m Seth Perler, an activist whose life’s work is dedicated to helping kids with Executive Functioning challenges so they can have great futures, despite outdated educational systems.

And I'm a person who has lived it, I have had tremendous Executive Functioning challenges that were eroding every aspect of my life. I'm fortunate for the support I received as a young person, because it changed the entire course of my life.

I still have EF challenges, but I now have countless solutions that have empowered me to build a fantastic life. They say we "teach what we most need to learn" and that's true for me, EF is my passion.

My mission: Give you (compassionate & proactive parents, educators and others who help kids) honest, practical and unconventional approaches to helping complicated, struggling students, without b.s. or misinformation. And teach the world about Executive Function, which is at the root of most student struggles.

My vision: A day when we don’t need executive function coaches because education is wildly successful at empowering all neurodivergent students with everything they need to have happy, healthy and successful lives.

Why Seth created TEFOS? Mission?

Mission?

Help parents, and other concerned adults, help children to better navigate school & life through better Executive Function.

What's the backstory?

The quick version: Creating TEFOS was a dream of mine for years, and in 2019, it became a reality (2023 is our 5th annual event.) My life is dedicated to helping kids who struggle with EF because I know firsthand how severely the consequences can negatively impact one's ability to become a happy & successful adult. I wanted to create this because there are too many kids struggling, and when adults understand Executive Function, we can better serve these kids. I'm thrilled to share this heart-centered summit with you and hope you find answers you're looking for.

What experience do I hope you have?

1. I'm intentional about every aspect of TEFOS, and want you to have an immersive and transformative experience.

My #1 intention is that you walk away feeling more empowered to support your child with Executive Function challenges. I want you to be inspired to take action.

2. What comes from the heart goes to the heart. Therefore I get heartfelt speakers and make them feel at home, which leads to the next intention...

3. I want the experts to be informal because I want YOU to feel relaxed and connected to them. I want you to feel like you're in a coffee shop or sitting in a park with them, and you feel like it's easy to take their wisdom in. I do NOT want this to feel stuffy. We are NOT trying to be perfect or polished, we are trying to be helpful and real.

4. I want you to experience many a-ha moments.

5. Finally, I want you to feel hopeful, positive and empowered.

How does Seth choose the experts?

My criteria

I reach out to experts who are "heart-centered" because what comes from the heart goes to the heart. I want YOU, attendees, to feel like they are speaking directly to you, so getting heart-centered people who are living their life's purpose serving kids and families is critical.

My process:

  1. Over the years I've collected names of people that inspire me with their service to kids. I also ask you for suggestions. I also ask other experts for ideas.
  2. Then I research them like crazy.
  3. Then I reach out, which involves trying to find real contact information, and sending individual videos asking experts if we could zoom to see if it's a mutual match.
  4. I meet them on Zoom to discuss the moving pieces.
  5. THE FUN PART: We record the interviews, which involves a pre and post interview to make sure we're covering the bases.
  6. Then we put the moving pieces in place for the event and the All-Access Pass, which includes:
  • Building the website so people can easily access the content
  • uploading countless videos
  • Closed captioning & Transcriptions
  • Creating audio files
  • Getting the bonus vids uploaded
  • Uploading the bonus resources

You get the picture. Finally, we have ourselves a great event!

What's the coolest thing about TEFOS?

The coolest thing is that the experts cover the same themes in different ways, which is mind blowing, because we can connect dots like never before. We discover different ways of understanding common themes, which makes them more accessible, and thus helps us feel more empowered to support our children.

Is financial help available?

Does my child have Executive Function challenges?

If your child struggles with things like this, then yes:

Focus, homework, getting started, follow through, organization, planning, being on time, distractibility, remembering important things, prioritizing the important things over the fun things when it matters, decision making, being responsible, managing overwhelm or emotions.

What is Executive Function and Neurodiversity?

Executive Function refers to the many skills our brains use to get things done. This includes everything from homework, studying, and chores, to getting ready for school or tackling responsibilities, to playing video games or with toys. In other words, it's about how we execute complex tasks through to completion.

It's also how we prioritize the important things over the fun or preferred things, when it matters for our future well-being, quality of life, and bigger goals.

If a child struggles with: starting or finishing important tasks, focusing, organizing, managing time, schoolwork, resisting distractions, prioritizing, remembering details, overwhelm, emotions, realistic self-awareness, making good decisions ... they're still developing EF skills. And the right support is makes all the difference.

If your child struggles with things like this:

Focus, homework, getting started, follow through, organization, planning, being on time, distractibility, remembering important things, prioritizing the important things over the fun things when it matters, decision making, being responsible, managing overwhelm or emotions.

Neurodiversity is about learning differences, and how our brains are unique in how we think, process, feel, and experience the world.

A "neuro-inclusive" perspective allows us to use strength based approaches to educating and raising kids, rather than focusing so much on deficits, disorders, weaknesses, or noncompliance.

Supporting kids effectively requires compassion, empathy, kindness, and strategies that understand brain development. This can be challenging because there is a lot of misunderstanding around EF, and because ineffective, top-down approaches are still the norm. And TEFOS helps you help learn more about how to your unique child.
