About Tera


Tera Sumpter, M.A., CCC-SLP, is the author of the internationally best-selling book, The Seeds of Learning: A Cognitive Processing Model for Speech, Language, Literacy, and Executive Functioning, and the founder and CEO of Seeds of Learning, LLC, a private practice in Cleveland, Ohio specializing in executive function, reading, speech, language, writing, and other pediatric learning challenges.


She leads a global online educational community for speech-language pathologists, educators, parents, and allied professionals seeking to better understand executive function and learn how to integrate it into their current intervention practices. Tera presents her integrative cognitive processing and executive function model at conferences and workshops across the United States and internationally. She is also a creator of executive function resources designed to support both professionals and families in practical, real-world application.


She currently serves as an adjunct instructor at Ashland University, where she teaches her executive function cohort courses, offering graduate-level instruction and continuing education. She previously taught Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism at Cleveland State University. Her clinical experience includes years as a medical speech-language pathologist in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings and private practice.


Tera is driven by the belief that all children can thrive — both academically and beyond — when the adults around them are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and strategies needed to support their learning and development.
