"This summit is amazing and so very helpful. As a parent, partner, and professional fully immersed in 2e issues, I learned so much from the speakers at TEFOS. I was familiar with only 4 of these speakers prior to the conference, and loved the creativity, passion, competence, and caring they all brought for our families. All of these talks were so helpful and some were downright mind-blowing."

What is Executive Function?

In simple terms, Executive Function refers to the many skills our brain needs to get important stuff done (everything from homework, chores and studying, to getting ready for school or tackling responsibilities). In other words, EF is about how we "execute" complex tasks through to completion. It's about how to prioritize the important things over the fun things, when it matters for our future well-being, quality of life or personal goals.

So if a child struggles with starting or finishing important tasks, focusing, organizing, managing time, turning in schoolwork, resisting distractions, prioritizing, remembering key details, realistic self-awareness, making good decisions, or staying emotionally regulated, it's because they're still developing their Executive Functioning skills, and the right support is essential.

Supporting kids effectively requires compassion, empathy, kindness, and an understanding of brain development. This is challenging when there is so much misunderstanding around EF, and when ineffective, top-down approaches are norm. Fortunately, TEFOS gives you strategies that work. Register here >
