Ekua Walker, PNP is a parent coach and creator of the BE CALM Parenting system. She works with smart and engaged parents who want to bring CALM and JOY to their child’s behavior issues - especially when their kids are not calm! She is also a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Development and Behavior specialty for a Medical Foundation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Local physicians refer children of all ages for developmental assessments when there are concerns for delays or issues of any kind. She has expertise in supporting families with challenges ranging from communication delays, Autism, Cognitive Disability, school learning concerns such as Learning Disability, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and a range of emotional concerns in children and teens.

Ms. Walker is Board Certified in Primary Care Pediatrics, trained at Stanford University for a Bachelors in Human Biology and University of CA San Francisco for her Advanced Practice Nursing degree and has loved this role for over 13 years. She also has years of previous coaching experience as a Clinical Health Educator for Kaiser Permanente and managed complex behavior medical management of dual-diagnosis, low-income children at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland prior to her current clinic.

As a parenting coach and consultant, she provides training on mindfulness-based parenting strategies needed to implement treatment plans (with or without medication from your medical care home). The BE CALM Parenting system is a holistic, whole-family solution to turn behavior challenges into opportunities!

Ekua is the host and CEO (Chief Encouragement Officer) at Moms Changing the World where she interviews mothers who are making an impact on the world in interesting ways. They share mindfulness based tips and tricks for finding your passion and raising world changers…one child at a time, one day at a time!
