Executive Function Coaching
The Momentum Program
Make School Easier, Better, More Fun
Spring 2025 Student Coaching With Seth Perler
What's Momentum?
A semester long Executive Function Coaching Program with direct access to Seth, to make life easier for students. It's designed to give your child the Momentum to stay on top of things throughout the semester, while strengthening EF skills they need to thrive. We do this through regularly scheduled, intensive co-working sessions with me, where we take action on our most important tasks, and the things we've been avoiding.
Who is it for?
A small group of ~15 students, Middle School - Young Adult.
When is it?
January 7 - May 19, 2025.
Student coaching is generally every other Sunday evening, beginning at 4:00pm PT, 7:00pm ET. (90-120 min). See schedule below. TimeZone Converter
Is it a good fit for my child?
If you can answer "yes" to the following, it's probably a good fit:
✔ My child wants coaching with Seth this semester.
✔ My child is willing and able to show up, on time, and ready for the Sunday Sessions with Seth.
✔ My child has worked with Seth in the past, or has gone through UGYG, and has a basic understanding of Seth's methods.
✔ My child wants to strengthen the Executive Function skillsets they need for success in school and life.
✔ I, the parent, want to feel more relaxed about how my child is doing, and more empowered to support them, rather than spinning my wheels.

How Does Momentum Work?
How Do Coaching Sessions Work?
Students show up on time, prepared, and ready for an intense, and productive focus session.
We meet every other Sunday evening (generally).
Start time: 4:00pm PT, 5:00pm MT, 6:00pm CT, 7:00pm ET. TimeZone Converter
Sessions are ~90 minutes, and I stay on for at least 120 min for students who want/need more time.
Session Agenda
1. (10-15 min) First we get settled, remove distractions, connect in a positive way, we identify our NOP, and plan tonight's session. (I help students get honest and clear about what their NOP/ Number One Priority is for the night, and other top priorities.)
2. (25 min) Next, we take Focused Action on one thing for a solid 25 minutes (similar to pomodoro). This practice builds critical lifelong skills for focusing to make progress on priorities. During these blocks of time, I meet with individuals in breakout rooms to coach them based on their unique needs. All students get a lot of personalized 1:1 time with me.
3. (5 min) Take a quick break to check in about our progress, move our bodies, reset our brains, and reprioritize so we know what to focus on next.
4. (25 min) Next, we take Focused Action #2.
5. (5 min) Break
6. (25 min) Next, we take Focused Action #3.
7. (5 min) Break. At this time, some students will need to get going, so they will debrief with me, and tell me their goal for the week before they sign off.
8. (25 min) For students who stay on, we take Focused Action #4, then wrap up.
*FYI Student coaching is on Sunday evenings because it tends to be the best time for the most people. In an effort to create an easy, doable, consistent, predictable routine for students, it's at the same time every other week generally (see schedule).
* FYI as far as the dates are concerned, it does not matter if students are on a break, or done with school... they should still show up, because I will help them work on something important for them, and reinforce EF habits.
How Does Messaging Seth Work?
During the week students and parents can send messages for support via my iPhone or Whatsapp, and I respond within 48 hours via text, voice, or video.
Examples: They can send a voice message asking how to organize something. Send a photo of a study guide to ask for ideas about how to prep for a particular test. How to approach a difficult teacher, or social situation. How to not beat themselves up, and to have more positive internal dialogue. To share wins. To get encouragement when they're overwhelmed. Etc..
How do 1:1 Calls Work?
(Optional) Want more time with me to get extra help, to get unstuck, problem solve? Use my Calendly to schedule a few 20 minute Laser Sessions sessions with me for individual students, parents, or both together.
How Do Workshos Work?
(Optional) One Saturday a month I run a live workshop for Students and Parents in my EF-Lab community, based on timely topics. These are not required, but you are encouraged to join whenever possible. See schedule.
How Does The WhatsApp Student Support Group Work?
(Optional) A safe, private group for students to chat with each other and Seth, to share wins, complain, get support, or set up student led co-working sessions for more accountability.
Benefits Of Momentum
✅ Save Time: The time your child puts into this will SAVE them way more time, energy, and frustration.
✅ Student Accountability: Taking action together on your child's highest priorities, and making commitments to follow through throughout the weeks.
✅ Clarity: Helping your child develop skills around clarifying priorities maturely, so they can focus on the things that actually matter in the short term, as well as for their long-term well-being.
✅ Connection: Students get to be a part of something bigger through relationships and camaraderie with others who "get it". They get to internalize the fact that they're not alone, that others have the same challenges, that it's ok, and that others are also focused on how to live in the solution!
